Philip McInnis

Philip is a Principal Owner and President of McInnis Insurance Agency, Inc. He has worked with the insurance, human resources, technology and administrative matters of the agency since 1973. Philip also fulfills the role of Secretary/Treasurer for McInnis Brothers Construction, Inc., one of Northwest Louisiana’s largest general contractors.


Philip is a native of Minden, Louisiana, and received his degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1971. He also received his Masters in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in 1973.


Despite the demands of the positions Philip holds with McInnis Insurance Agency and McInnis Brothers Construction, he has actively involved himself in the community. Philip has held positions as Chairman and member of the Executive Committee for the Minden/South Webster Chamber of Commerce, with several terms as a member of the Board of Directors. Philip also served as Chairman for the Minden Medical Center Board (advisory), and President and recipient of the Lion of the Year Award at the Minden Downtown Lions Club.


Charitable service for Philip has included serving on the Board of Directors for United Way of Northwest Louisiana, the Strand Theatre Corporation, and the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. Philip’s involvement in trade associations include an eight-year term completed in 2015 on the Board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana; member of the National Agent’s Advisory Council for Great American Insurance Company; member of the Board of Directors of the Shreveport Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.


Philip has also served in many capacities, including Chairman of the Administrative Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, and Chairman of the Stewardship Committee at the First United Methodist Church of Minden, where he has been a lifetime member.
